starting to feel like home.

You know, adjusting to my new home may not be so tough after all! It will still take some time, but practicing my usual creature comforts has definitely made the transition seem less daunting.

This morning I woke up and instantly made my first pot of coffee…and it was a delicious one. There are few things worse than bad coffee, so I considered this to be a good sign.

It was apparently a well-caffeniated cup of coffee too because it gave me the urge to go on an organizing rampage. There’s still more to be done, but I’m at least making some headway.

And then…I worked! As excited as I am to start a new job in the future, I’m definitely going to miss what I now am calling my “office:”

Later in the afternoon Amanda came by to hang out and catch up on some work with me. Hooray for having at least one friend in NY 🙂

We grabbed lunch from Whole Foods, naturally.

…and painted our nails. Also naturally.

Clearly work was slow today 😉

Plans for the rest of the night include some baking and a date with Jillian.

Actually, scratch that. I think I’ll reschedule.

(Which means I strategically placed those items for nothing. Oops!)

Goodnight, doll babes! xoxo G

Do you have a secret to making good coffee? Mine is to always put an extra spoonful of grounds, aka “one for the pot.”

Ha- I’m the opposite of you with coffee. I find that leveling the tablespoons-meaning no extra-makes a good pot of coffee. I’ll have to try your trick, though. I’l just make sure to level that extra tablespoon. lol

Thanks for the comment Mark! Glad you enyjoed the video. Yeah, this was my first go at home roasting. I agree that stirring the beans during the process helps to rid the beans of the chaff and ensures that they are rotating properly. Preheating isn’t necessary, no. Take care!

My secret to the perfect pot of coffee is have my mom make it. Seriously, I have yet to figure out how to make it taste very good.

I just bought 30 day shred on Monday and have yet to try it out.

I am still adjusting to my new place too!

Good coffee - um, lately going to a local coffee shop has been it for me 🙂 Need lots of it lately.

Best of luck to you in your new adventure in NYC! I see many great things happening for you!

My mom likes strong coffee too!
You just reminded me of how badly I need to work out.
I’m seriously cravving a workout right now. It’s ridiculous. WIth my back and all its hard bc I can’t run or easily get my adrenaline up and running unless its with stupid biking!:(

I’m so glad you’re starting to feel more at home - such a great feeling!

I believe in making a STRONG pot of coffee, nothing worse than watery java. Sometimes we’d add some cocoa powder for an extra kick.

I’m obsessed with the miscellaneous drawers chilling next to your bed. Hilar!

my secret to a perfect cup of coffee? Mama’s keurig machine. Nothing like it.

Funny story about those drawers. I FORGOT THE STINKIN’ DRESSER THAT THEY GO IN!! Hence the stack-age. Duh, me!!
