Well, it’s that time of year again! The new year is upon us, and resolutions/goals are being determined all around us.
For some odd reason, though, I have absolutely no desire to make goals for 2011. I’m not sure why that is – especially considering the fact that 2010 was my first time making actual goals, and I ended up accomplishing almost all of them! Let’s see…
Gracie’s goals for 2010:
- start a blog. CHECK
- plan a vacation on my own and GO! CHECK
- be able to run at least 3 miles - CHECK
- work on certain “business ventures.” CHECK (sort of…the “business ventures” changed over the course of the year)
- read through the entire Bible. CHECK (just a few chapters left for the next few days)
- cook and bake more. CHECK
- be able to do 20 real pushups. CHECK
- learn martial arts. FAIL (despite constantly swearing I would. Oops)
- budget, invest, and save money. CHECK
7.5 out of 9? Not bad at all, if I do say so. *Pats self on back.*
But…like I said…even though I accomplished my goals, I don’t really feel like making new ones. Maybe I’m just lazy. Or maybe I’m rebelling against the creation of “official” new year’s goals. I mean, wouldn’t it make more sense to make yearly goals on one’s birthday instead? Just a thought (…or just an excuse to opt out of making a list of goals before January 1st
).
I can’t help but think I’ll come up with at least a few things before then, though, so I’ll keep you posted. Sound good?
Did you have any 2010 goals? Were they accomplished?

your 7.5 is a lot better than mine, but I’ve forgiven myself because my life took some crazy turns this year and I’m pretty darn happy where I’ve ended up
Nice job on completing most of your goalst
They were great ones!
Not sure of my goals yet for 2011, but ‘budget, invest and save money’ might end up being on the list!

You should be so proud of yourself! Personally I’m really impressed that you can do 20 real push-ups… I think my limit is about 5!
Any goals you didn’t complete you can just transfer over to this year!
I really haven’t thought of making goals every year, just resolutions. I really like that idea, thanks!
Um, you are awesome. I think you get the award for most completed resolutions. Still putting mine together….errrrr.
I don’t really make goals/new years resolutions. Maybe it’s time!
7.5 is great. I had a lot of goals this year and I’m proud to say I worked on them all and even fully accomplished most. Having them written was a big deal for me this year. Normally I say them and then forget about it.
Yep, I had a simple goal of just challenging myselfin 2010 and I kicked that goal’s butt
Good job with yours, that’s awesome!
You really did accomplish all of those goals. I am kind of up in the air on the whole having goals things for the year too. I know I have things I want to accomplish and focus on, but I wouldn’t say they are resolutions for the new year.
Congrats on obtaining most of your goals! I don’t have specific ones and I dont really have the desire to set them either! It’s not because there arent things I don’t want to do…I just am feeling like it’s going to unfold along the way!
Hi Gracie! Your blog is lovely. I’m glad I came across it. One of my goals this year is to plan and book a trip on my own and go. Mexico sounded perfect. Happy New Year! Kristy
Congrats on achieving most of your goals!
I didn’t make any goals last year, but I think I will this year! Now that I don’t have the structure of school for the year, I think goals make more sense for some reason…
Yay! Congrats on accomplishing so many of your goals! I will need to take your crash course on blogging, because that will be one of my goals for 2011.
Way to go on accomplishing so many goals! I didn’t make any goals for 2010, but I definitely want to make some for 2011. I haven’t really sat down and thought about it yet though!
You should be really proud of yourself, you did awesome! I really really recommend you giving martial arts a chance this year. I am not able to do it right now because I am getting ready to go away to school for the first time, but I have done martial arts and kickboxing the past couple years and I love both SO much. One of my goals for sometime in my 20s (i’m 18) is actually to get my black belt…. we will see though haha.
Your awesome Gracie!
Hey Gina! Thanks for the encouragement…I really do want to try martial arts soon! I’ve always wanted to get a black belt, but as I’ve gotten older I feel like my time is running out. I need to stop thinking that way, though!
Wow you really came through on your goals!! Way to go, lady!
Great goals! I have one major one planned for 2011, but I can’t remember my goals from last year.
