the day after.

Ever since I can remember, the day after Thanksgiving has been one of my favorite days of the year. Why? Because my family and I skip the shopping and instead spend the day decorating the house for Christmas. I mean, you know I love shopping and a good bargain, but staying my my pajamas all day listening to Christmas music wins by a landslide :)

I started the morning with a bowl of oatmeal and tea.

I love this Equal Exchange black tea. It’s bold yet refreshing. I drank it with a drizzle of honey.

My oatmeal was extra creamy because I cooked it in 1/2 cup of whole milk and 1/2 cup of water. Toppings were peanut butter and melted dark chocolate chips.

Warm and cozy breakfasts just scream the holidays, don’t you think?

And then…decorating ensued. Before:

Add some Christmas tunes…

Clearly the tree still needs some decorating, but we’re getting there! And by the way, I’m proud of our fake clean, non-allergenic, and perfectly symmetrical Christmas tree :)

Have a great Friday, lovebugs! Don’t get trampled down at the mall, k? xoxo G

  • When does your family decorate for Christmas?
  • Do you have any “kick off the holiday season” traditions?
