I like to think that I have a decent amount of self control.
But, like everyone else, I have those things that I just can’t seem to resist…nor do I want to. Can you really blame a girl?
1. Sirius satellite radio.
When I first got my car, I was tricked into given a free month of Sirius, and now I don’t think I can ever go back to regular radio. Call me spoiled, but I doubt you’d be able to give up stations like xmu or bpm either.
2. TDH’s.
Let’s be honest here…I have a type. I am irresistibly attracted to those with the opposite physical appearance of myself. But don’t be fooled – just because you’re TDH it sure as heck doesn’t been I’m DTF.
3. the bread basket.
When people are trying to be “healthy,” why is the bread basket always the first to go? That’s one of the best parts of the meal. I guess there could be worse problems, though, because it just means more bread for me.
4. TV shows about myths/conspiracy theories.
Are there really bunkers being built to prepare for the supposed 2012 apocalypse? And how do you expect me to pass up a television show called Ancient UFOs?? Don’t even get me started on my obsession with Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura. Even though I’m rarely ever convinced, I just can’t resist the fascination that comes with these unknown myths/theories.
- What do you find to be irresistible lately?

The bread basket…hell yes!! I’d rather do without sides or even drinks. Whatever it takes to eat several huge, fluffy pieces of bread
Um, I think it’s safe to say I find chocolate to be irresistable 100% of the time…
MMM bread and butter. I am completely obsessed right now with vita muffins and forever 21. I have gone there like every single weekend! Its becoming a problem.
Yum, the bread basket. I never understood the concept of “Oh, I’m eating healthy now, must give up bread!” Nothing wrong with bread…or bread baskets…or Olive Garden breadsticks
Hmm, what do I find to be irresistable?
-dark chocolate
-good music
-good-lookin’ guys (heh! I don’t have a type. I just know what I like when I see it!)
heh! I don’t have a type. I just know what I like when I see it! <— haha love that
Even though I have "a type," I'd have to agree!
I love conspiracy theories!! And XM radio. I’m hooked on Wake Up with Taylor on Cosmo 162. Hubbs (a TDH man himself
) makes fun of me for it, but I find Taylor so entertaining!
I’m kinda obsessed with conspiracy theories too!
irresistable:
The Office
peanut flour
roasted veggies
God’s love,mercy,and grace
sleep
weight lifting
reading blogs
I fully understand your acronyms in #2.
And I love conspiracy theories-specifically ones concerning JFK’s assasination. The CIA killed JFK!
Love you that understood my acronyms
I never refuse the bread basket anymore. When I first started losing weight I always would, but I’d watch everyone else eat piece after piece and talk about how doughy and warm it was, and I couldn’t figure out why I was torturing myself. Now I eat a piece (or two) before my meal and totally enjoy it.
I took a class called “Paranoia and Conspiracies in American Culture.” It’s true that our country (as well as many others) have a natural affinity toward paranoid thinking. (JFK assassinated by CIA? Obama birth rights? Man didn’t land on the moon?)
In other news, I can’t resist checking blogs first thing in the morning. But, that’s not a bad thing, right?
That sounds like the best class EVER!!
TDHs and bread. Those are two of the finer things in life
#2 made me bust out laughing! Irresistable = chocolate. And peanut butter. Preferably at the same time.
I always pity the people who pass on the bread basket! They are missing out!
HAHA OMG I love you! #2 killed me!
Shopping is irresistible to me. Duh.
and Harry Potter!!!! Please tell me you arent conspiring against it
hahahah DTF! i love that you just said that.
Maybe I’ve been married too long but what’s DTF? *blushes*
DTF = down to “eff.” Yuck, right?!
Ewwwwww. haha yeah I’m glad I didn’t know that one!
cookies. i can’t stop. i make at least one batch a week. I love oatmeal cookies A LOT right now.
triple extra large old man sweat pants and an XL sweatshirt from my high school days - it’s my favorite thing to put on when I get home, and sit cross legged on my recliner, reading, crafting, watching TV.
tea. i used to think I didn’t like tea. I was wrong.
Paper. I can’t stop with the pretty paper. the funky paper. the bright, the pastel, the bold, the classy. I love paper. it’s ridic, really.
I’m currently obsessed with cinnamon. I’ve always *liked* it, but now I *L-O-V-E* it! I eat it with everything. The other day I had a rice cake with cinnamon on top and some cinnamon got on my chicken breast and I thought it tasted good and even put a bit more cinnamon on my chicken breast. That might be weird, but I make no apologies HAHA!
The bread basket is the best part of the meal..I don’t skip it ever:)
Lately I have found online shopping irresistible which is hurting my wallet!
I totally go through phases, but right now I’m finding the TV show Parenthood and any sort of warm baked good (muffins, scones, sweet breads) irresistible!
Also, the only reason to ever skip the bread basket is if the bread is stale or not very good. Otherwise, I agree, that’s crazy
I am obsessed with headbands and jumbo rings. I’m on an accessories kick and can’t get them off my mind lately!
Irresistible? Hmmm, vanilla lattes, leftover candy corn, and pizza!
I used to have Sirius and loooooved it. My love affair ended only after I had my headlights replaced and the mechanic unknowingly broke the cord from the satellite to my speakers.
it always comes back to chocolate…
Girl,
My boyfriend has the same feelings towards SIrIus radio and I love him because he has it. I am in love with the channel with Josiah on it…so funny!
DTF… oh Jersey Shores.
Bread basket! Yum.
I am a little addicted to 16& pregnant.
AH gotta love the break basket
i can’t resist the real housewives of atlanta hahah i realize it is supremely trashy to watch but NeNe is seriously the funniest person alive. Also, anything and everything from Anthropologie is my weak spot.

OMGOSH YES - The Real Housewives!! Irresistible for sure.
Haha! What a fun post. I would have to say right now sugar is irresistible to me. I have such bad sweet cravings all the time lately.
The bread basket kills me - I always want some. Stupid gluten.
OH the bread basket at the cheesecake factory is seriously irresistible!! GAHH
Sometimes our posts/tastes are so similar it’s eerie!
So, I’m in love with Pandora. I also thought I had a type (TDH, to be exact) and then I met my man. Complete opposite of dark (he is tan, though). And just the other night, I told him that I wanted to “go to a restaurant with a bread basket.” Not even kidding. I prefer restaurants that feed me lots and lots of bread.
When we meet, the world best watch out. xoxo!
1. Leggings.
2. Uggs.
3. Sweaters.
4. Coffee.

Almond Butter…definitley the nut butters!
Oh my gosh YES I love those shows about mysteries/conspiracies/the unexplainable. Especially ones involving history. *major nerd*
Lately I’ve been finding dried fruit irresistible. I can’t keep my hand out of the bag!
There’s nothing like a good History Channel documentary on Nostradamus…hahaha.
I’m obsessed with pumpkin-shaped candy corn. Like, I can’t even help myself. Honest.
Heck, they have me at tall…where did all the tall boys go!? It’s a miracle if I date a guy who’s taller than me when I’m wearing heels
i can never escape the bread basket, i’m actually drawn to it!
[...] irresistible. [...]
Two things:
1. Why am I the only dude who reads this blog… I thought food was the good boy’s porn?
2. What the hell is a TDH?… Urban dictionary told me what DTF was… nicely plaid.
1. I don’t think you’re the only dude who reads my blog. You’re one of…maybe…5?
2. TDH = tall dark & handsome (and yes, I made that up).
Thanks for reading, Luke R!! xoxo G
wow…. nicely *played*… no more 6:30am commenting. Just wanted to clear that up so my street cred would be intact.
I wish people didn’t think bread was so bad! If you get a non-sugar added, whole grain one, you are doing yourself so much good!Full of vit E, wheat germ, b vitamins and fiber! It makes me laugh how so many people don’t eat gluten all of a sudden thinking it is healthier and for weight loss- (claiming to be Celiac when they are not!), and instead of eating whole grain breads, they buy rice bread etc- thinking that it is better, when it’s even higher in carbs than regular (nothing wrong with rice bread! Just giving an example!). I’ve actually encountered people saying things such as “I don’t eat carbs” in regards to avoiding veggies, fruit and bread; instead, they grab butter dripping, heart clogging fried ground beef with bacon and literally 1/2 stick of butter thrown in (I am not exagerating, about an inch of grease in the frying pan). Why do people think an apple makes you gain weight? The insulin spike is not that much, and they make great healthy snacks. It’s not carbs that cause disease- it is too much added sugar. When people generalize, without understanding, it causes so many problems on a societal level! It’s akin to saying ALL people are bad because Hitler was dispicable and he was a person. It’s an extreme example, but just illustrates how ignorant, misinformed, confused and detrimental (to society as a whole) this type of “post hoc” thinking is! Thank you for always keeping such a healthy perspective! I know you help a lot of girls (and guys) who fear eating carbs will make them unhealthy!
I saw Jessie Ventura on the Joy Behar show, and ever since he started talking about the JFK theory, I’ve been obsessed! He sounds so convincing! I haven’t caught his show yet, and am really wanting to read his book!! There is something about him in that black leather jacket!!
I hear ya, Barbara! Even with how much I love bread, though (and I also don’t believe that it’s carbs per-se that make people “fat,” rather it’s sugar), I see the truth in many low carb styles of eating. For example, I personally don’t believe that saturated fat is what makes people “fat” either! I think the problem is when people go to one extreme or the other. Cutting out entire food groups is never a good idea (and I think that many low carb diets are misunderstood in that sense because they’re not all “NO carb” diets! i.e. the Paleo lifestyle). I also think it’s important to recognize that everyone’s body and metabolism is different, so some people might be more sensitive to sugar than others, you know?
I think you hit the nail on the head with saying generalizations is what gets our society in so much trouble - including when it comes to the whole health/weight loss world.
Thanks for this thoughtful comment!! Take care
xoxoxo G
Best part of going out for Italian is the hot bread roll served with salted butter!!!!
