semi-homemade pumpkin pie.

Hello, lovebugs! :)

Pumpkin pie has and always will be one of my all time favorite desserts, but I must admit that I’ve never actually made one myself.

Until yesterday, that is.

In fact, yesterday was my first time ever making *a* pie. I’m all about taking baby steps, so I opted for using a frozen Pillsbury pie crust. Sandra Lee would be happy, no?

And, since I wasn’t sure which pumpkin pie recipe to use, I automatically assumed that the recipe with the word “famous” attached would be the best choice.

Everything seemed to be going without a hitch…

…but what sort of first-time pie-baking experience would that be? :P

After overcoming the beginning stages of a temper tantrum and some cleanup, everything was back on track.

An hour of baking later - all past mishaps were forgotten.

Actually, scratch that. It was actually about 12 hours later that the mishaps were forgotten. You see, I was so determined to eat this pie yesterday that I made it at 7am. You know, because it requires two whole hours of cooling. I play it safe when it comes to my pumpkin pie, clearly.

My patience most certainly paid off.

Semi-homemade pumpkin pie + whipped cream = per. fect. ion.
