While I’ve been enjoying all of those things, there is something particularly special about this fall. Along with the change in weather and the changing colors of nature, over these past few weeks I’ve also been noticing a change in myself.
I’ve made slight mention about the possible “life changes” I’ve been trying to ignite, but those aren’t the only changes I’m referring to. I’ve also been experiencing an internal sense of newness and, well…change.
I’m maturing – but in a different way than I have in the past.
I’m realizing what I want out of life…and what I don’t want out of life.
I’m beginning to understand what it means to truly have faith.
I’m finally getting to the point where I stop relying on myself so much, and instead starting to place my hopes and dreams solely in God’s hands.
I’m certainly still the same Gracie as I’ve always been. But I sure do hope that I become a less selfish, short-tempered, and more loving version of myself. And like I said – I want to get to the point where I can embrace the simplicity of giving everything up to God and trusting that He knows what’s best for me. The crazy part is that it really is that simple! True joy and fulfillment is not going to be found in a career, relationships, or a jean size. My joy comes from above.
Fall is a season of change, and this year it’s marking the beginning of a new season in my life: a season of excitement, newness, ups, downs, and reaching for the sky. But also a season of surrendering, learning, and glorifying God in all that I do.
(or at least trying to.)
Happy fall ![]()
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

What is your favorite thing about the fall?
-
Has this been a season of change in your life as well?

Those are ALL the reason I love fall too!
I love fall for all of the above reasons as well! I too have been trying to give all things to God and before giving anything/anyone else the glory, to give Him the glory first. I just went through a little medical scare and for two weeks I was an emotional wreck because of what was going on/I couldn’t make a decision on what I wanted to do. Instead, I gave it to God, found peace, and moved on with my life. Now, if I could just do that EVERY time, I’d be in good shape!
“I want to get to the point where I can embrace the simplicity of giving everything up to God and trusting that He knows what’s best for me.”
Umm, have you been reading my journal? That’s exactly the point I’m trying to get to!
“True joy and fulfillment is not going to be found in a career, relationships, or a jean size. My joy comes from above.”
Amen, my friend
Gracie, yet another post I adore!
This is, indeed, a season of change for me. I’m not sure what things are going to look like at the end of this season, but you know? You’re right. It’s not ME who’s in charge; it’s God. It’s time to relax in that.
I adore you! Thats All!
I love this. So far fall has been such a life change and mentality change for me. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me and you both in this season of change
Thanks for the inspiring post! Fall is my favorite season as well
This has definitely been a season of change for me as well. I’ve been doing a lot of self-reflecting, realizing that over the summer months I totally lost touch with some of the most important parts of my life. Granted, I was starting a new full-time job, but still. I am now working purposefully to get back to a place of balance, and to focus more on my spiritual life. I tend to let that fall by the wayside, but it’s actually the MOST important thing!
Ahhh, you are such a lovely woman Gracie! And should you ever choose to dye your hair black, you’d rock it!!!
You are so wise, Gracie! I wish I’d known what you do at your age. I think you are amazing and your life is going to be so fulfilling with your positive outlook and ultimately, as you so beautifully said, the simplicity of giving all control to God. <3
I’m loving fall already. Especially the beautiful leaves changing colour and the yummy food at this time of year!
beautiful post. I’m not loving fall so much only because it’s oh so cold!
your faith is beautiful. thank you.
I love these photos..and agree with them all. Colors, hoodie weather, food/family/holidays
That is beautiful girl, and I feel the same way. It’s a new season in my life and I’m excited!
Fall is also my favorite season, and I’m super jealous that yours is so much more beautiful than mine in Oklahoma!!
great post! truly inspiring!
fall is my favorite season as well! well, its kind of a tie between fall and summer! fall would win if it were not for school.
but food, fun, clothes in fall are all wonderful!
and yes, this actually is a chnage of me for my life.
i am becoming more aware of how i act everyday and i try everyday to do things that would be fulfilling in god’s eyes.
i struggle with pateince with my mom as well as being short-trempered. I am working hard on that as well as embracing life’s everyday simplicity and things that make me smile instead of waiting for some gigantic thing to happen. becasue it probably won’t ( until i find me a goooood man that is;) )
great post! truly inspiring!

Since moving to PA from Texas last year, I had NO CLUE what “Fall” was. Now, after being here a year, I’m in luuurve with Fall and can’t imagine moving anywhere that doesn’t have this “changing of seasons”. I’m in awe of God’s beauty and I love the excitement of Fall with all the festivities and chilly, football weather! Plus, it makes it that much more reason to snuggle with my handsome husband by the fire:) Life is good!

I love fall for all those reasons too! It is great that you are growing and maturing. I am so happy for you that you are putting more trust in God. I think that hard work takes us so far and the rest is God knowing what is best for us and guiding us to it.
completely agreed. there comes a certain point in life where you wonder what you are really living for, what’s really worth living for. and the roads always point back to God all the time!
Hands down, I love the clothes~~!!!!!
Love this post Gracie!
I feel like I’ve changed a lot this fall too! I feel like I’ve finally started to feel comfortable with myself and learning how to find the right balance in life.
