Oh HEY dollbabes. I have not one but two videos for you! The topic: how to look the part in a professional environment. This was inspired by our galpal Caitlin, who came to us asking for tips on how to prep for an upcoming business-related event. This is something that I’m sure most of you can relate to, so enjoy!
First up - Emily’s tips for the perfect first impression makeup.
Next are some ways that I dress for success while still maintaining a personal sense of style.
Something important that I forgot to address in the video is that adding your personal sense of style to a work ensemble is a great confidence-booster.
What I mean is that if you head into an interview, for example, feeling professional but still unique - you’ll be more likely to maintain your sense of self. And, If you are comfortable with your own identity, I can almost guarantee that it will be easier to share that sassy self with your employer and fellow employees. Make sense?
There’s only one YOU out there, so get out there and show the world what you’ve got!
- What does your workplace makeup/wardrobe look like?
- Do you have a key “you” piece or accessory?

I love this post and I love how you keep posting videos! Style and dressing to reflect who you are is so important. I love fashion because you can be so unique and creative and work is a great place to do this, in a reasonable way! I mean, you don’t want to be looking like a weirdo! haha.
I always wear my pearl studs. I know they’re not exactly “unique” but I feel like me when I wear them. And that gives me confidence
“…I feel like me when I wear them.” That’s all that matters!! I love my pearl studs too
I’m with Liz - I always wear pearl studs.
Pashminas/scarves are also a must for me, because usually they can make “borderline” tops look more professional than those that are fine on their own.
Ohh, good tip!!
Feeling good about what you are wearing is indeed a huge confidence boost!
My office just OK’d jeans through the end of 2010 and I couldn’t be more excited. Dress pants just don’t fit me well. I feel much more put-together in jeans, and getting ready in the morning is 200 times easier.
When I worked at a fancy shoe store this summer, I would often wear plain black pants paired with a more trendy/youthful blazer. I liked that it was professional but still fun!
I love it when you call us dollbabes. It makes my day! I’ve been working from home so things are preeeetttty casual around here. But when I had an office job, it was pretty basic with black pants, dark jeans, conservative tops - a lot from Banana Republic (they have great sales!) and minimal/natural makeup.
