without a hitch.

Don’t you love weekends that seem to go without a hitch? Well, that’s exactly what this weekend turned out to be. There was time spent outside, fun nights out, relaxation, good food, and even better company :)

Rewind to yesterday, where Amanda and I spent the day at Peddler’s Village. It was pretty much the perfect way to spend the gorgeous Saturday.

One of the reasons I love going to Peddler’s Village in the fall is the scarecrow display and competition they hold every year. My bet goes on this Snooki scarecrow. Yes, I said Snooki.

HAHA!

Amanda and I did some shopping and came away with some great finds. In my case: A baby spoon to replace the one I recently lost. Am I a typical healthy-food blogger or what?

I also grabbed what may be one of the only candies I actually like:

9.11.10.9

Gummy Worms? Yuck.

Swedish Fish? Vom.

Candy corn? YES PLEASE.

Ahem, anyway, after working up an appetite we stopped at Hart’s Tavern for lunch. I started with their signature chicken + corn chowder soup.

9.11.10.12

I also had a turkey + bacon croissant sandwich.

9.11.10.13

(and yes, that’s where my short-lived vegetarian streak ended.)

After a bit more walking around, we headed back home to relax and wait for friend Erica to arrive and complete our friendship triangle :)

Later that evening the three of us headed to Green Parrot for a late-ish dinner. We all started with garden salads, which turned out to be way bigger than I expected.

9.11.10.14

Seriously, don’t you hate when a restaurant gives you iceberg lettuce and one slice of cucumber and calls it a salad?? None of that was going on here.

For my meal I ordered a mahgerita pizza, which was also way larger than I anticipated.

9.11.10.15

Let’s just say there were definitely leftovers involved.

After dinner we went next door to Sweet Pea Creams & Confections for some homemade ice cream. I could not for the life of me choose only one of their amazing flavors, so I went with their “mini scoops” bowl and got three: Pumpkin, cookie batter, and cupcake batter.

Words cannot describe.

My dates:

9.11.10.18

After heading into town for a bit, we decided to call it a night. And a good one it was :)

This morning I took the girls to church with me, followed by brunch with the parentals. Once again, I was having trouble making a decision with what I wanted to order, so I went with…everything!

First up: the creamiest, most delicious bowl of oatmeal ever…

9.12.10.3

…with a side of peanut butter, of course.

I also ordered a spinach + feta omelet, which came with hash browns and rye toast.

9.12.10.4

Once again, leftovers were involved. Dinner should be easy tonight!

I’m bummed that the girls left a little bit ago, but we have another reunion planned in just a few short weeks. So for now I’m going to sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of this Sunday! Ta ta, loves! xoxo G

HAHA Snookie Scarecrows. What will they think of next?

Since I’m a vegetarian, I almost always check the menu online if I know I’m going to a certain restaurant.

If not, I will either go for a salad of some sort of a sandwich and sub the fries for veggies! Unless they have sweet potato fries. That’s another story.

Your weekend looks so fun! That spoon is adorablee! You should have used it to eat that oatmeal with the peanut butter, which by the way, I never thought of asking for a side of peanut butter at a diner. Good thinking! =)

I’m glad your weekend went well! I’m soooo indecisive at restaurants! It usually takes me forever to order, and it drives my boyfriend insane. But oh well, a girl wants what she wants!

Pumpkin ice cream? Umm yes please!! My favorite candy is probably just a plain old Hershey’s bar or maybe Twix for my second choice. I generally don’t eat candy. If I want something sweet, I go for ice cream or a cookie or any kind of baked good.

    How fun!!

My old school favorite candy is a strawberry Charleston Chew. Those were the love of my life back in the day. :)

If there are only a couple veggie options at a restaurant, I can usually decide pretty quickly (durh), but take me to a vegetarian restaurant and I am one big ball of indecision!!

mm, i’m not much of a candy person! i like desserts :D and one of my favorite desserts are cinnamon rollss, yuuuuummmm-ayy! And when I can’t decide what I want i just imagine what each one would taste like in my mouth! haha that hardly ever happens though. i have a really strong tummy instict, so usually all i have to do is read something and it just hits me and i KNOW. hehe

Mmmm I love candy corn too!! Though really I love all candy- I definitely have a sweet tooth. Whenever I can’t decide what to order, I either ask the waiter or convince other people to get the other dishes I want. That way I can steal bites :)
