BLOGWORLD! Oh, how I’ve missed you all
A couple of days sans posting seems like a lifetime, doesn’t it?
After my last post, my weekend in Long Island got even better. In fact, I’d say it was one of the best weekends I’ve ever had! More on that in a bit.
break the fast.
I woke up extra early this morning (despite my serious sleep debt) to get a head start on my to-list for today. For breakfast I had a bowl that included oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and peanut butter.

…clearly I couldn’t choose just one thing.
I also sipped on a cup (or two) of coffee.

sunday.
Speaking of coffee, I don’t think I wouldn’t gotten through yesterday alive without it
I had a change of plans and actually ended up driving back to the shore after coming home from Long Island. I think my current Facebook status says it all: 1 day. 3 states. Lots of coffee. Even more memories. I mean, a little bit 20 ounces of coffee at 10pm never hurt anyone, right?

I also had some car ride snackage:

Before leaving NY, Amanda’s mom made us an outstanding dinner, but all of my photos turned out too blurry
Side note – always make sure your camera switch is not stuck somewhere inbetween “auto” and “program.” Duh, Gracie. One of the photos that did manage to turn out was of this divine peach blackberry cobbler.

This cobbler gave my love for cookies a serious run for its money. YUM!
saturday.
We initially planned on going into the city on Saturday, but it turned out to be a scorcher. So instead of subjecting ourselves to the sweaty abyss of Manhattan, we all agreed that the beach was a much better idea.
Amanda, moi, and half of Erica
That evening we had plans to go to Fire Island (or, as we referred to it as Foyre Oyland. And Magic Island. And, Magical Fantasy Island). The only way to get there is by boat (for obvious reasons), so we took the ferry there and back.
The ferry made for a fun addition to our night. Who doesn’t love a boat ride?

Our destination was Ocean Beach, which is the most popular tourist destination on Fire Island.
We stopped for a quick dinner at a local Italian restaurant. I ordered the crab cake appetizer as my meal. I’ve made it no secret that I’m super picky about crab cakes, and these were really good!
We spent the rest of the night having a grand ol’ time

All in all, it was definitely a weekend for the books. In fact, we’ve already got our next LI weekend planned! LOVE YOU LADIES.
I have a lot to catch up on today…including a I-can’t-remember-the-last-time-I-exercised workout. Oops
Enjoy your Monday, lovelies!! xoxo G
- Where would you like to go for a weekend getaway?

ugh… driving at night is such a pain. When we drive from TX to MI to visit family we do the 20 hour drive straight. Because we’re insane. Many a Starbucks doubleshot drink is consumed…
I would love to go to San Francisco. I’m just dying to get out to CA
Looks like an awesome weekend! and those crab cakes look delish (but don’t all crab cakes…:)).
I hear ya… 3 cheers for coffee this morning!
I’d love a getaway weekend to Maine…. not sure why… never been there… and it sounds fun
I have that casserole dish!!! hahaha too funny.
Sounds fun! (And yes, it’s totally lawn guyland.) I’d like to have a weekend getaway in Paris. But realistically, I’d enjoy going to Cape Cod, which is where I spend most of my summers growing up.
oooh i love crab cakes but am really picky about them too. no green peppers!!! yours look good. glad you had fun!
How fun! These pics are precious.
I love mixin’ yogurt with my oatmeal, cereal, and peanut butter. Tangy pick up that milk can’t give me:)
Peach AND blackberry cobbler, sign me up.
I am ready for the beach, any beach - I don’t discriminate:)
Glad you had SUCH a fun weekend, girl! I’m dying for a weekend away at the beach - Cape Cod maybe?
Looks like such a fun weekend!! We are headed to Lake Tahoe this weekend to stay with friends and I’ve never been so I’m really excited!! Mostly excited to get out of the Texas heat for a few days.
It looks like you’ve been having fun
I loveeee your black & white dress!
And yes, sometimes 20 cups of coffee is incredibly neccessary
Super funnn!! Makes me miss home, even though I was just on LI last week.
Glad you loved it. I didn’t realize there was an Ocean Beach on Fire Island…I live in Ocean Beach, San Diego now, but I guess that’s not an uncommon name ha. My next weekend getaway will be to San Fran/Napa and I can’t wait!!!
love the bikini and the beach hair!
Looks like you had an AMAZING trip!!!!! You look SO PRETTY in all of your pictures! Can I please have your hair??? Puhleeeez
Have a great day love!!!!
XOXOX,

Looks like a fun little getaway! I am going to Fire Island next week I think! Love it there! Now I am craving crab cakes!
That is a lot of getting around in a short time! It looks like it was worth it though.
Okay, you look absolutely gorgeous in these pics. Glad you had such an amazing time!! As much as I love blogland, it’s nice to forget about the computer for a few days and just enjoy the company of your friends.
Wawa coffee = LIFE. I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I can’t turn down their dark chocolate macadamia roast. To die for. Glad you’re back love!
Omg please don’t post anymore beach pics! Ur killing me cause I want to go so bad! lol. You and your friends are so cute. Looks like a great time
I am a total cookie devotee, but love cobbler, too. Actually, now that you reminded me of it, cobbler and ice cream sound pretty darn good…
I’ve had the most amazing six weeks of my life in Europe, but the only place I want to go now is h-o-m-e.
oh my gosh your weekend ROCKED girlfrand!! I LOVE SPONTANEOUS ROAD TRIPS!!!! They rock.. they keep you young! bahaha. thanks for being a NORMAL person and not freaking out about not workout out/ not eating veggies with every meal.. the blog world needs more of that!
i love the beach look and that dress is SUPER cute! sounds like you had a superb weekend!! pshhh workouts can always happen, memories cannot
Oh man, I do not love a boat ride. Ferries give me the most horrid sickness. Worse than a freakin’ raft. Looks like you had tons of fun, though!
I love weekend getaways to the beach, fo shiz! Yay for a great weekend
Wow, so much driving! But it sounds like it was all worth it. It looks like you had a blast this weekend! Who cares about working out when you’ve got the beach and crab cakes right in front of you?
[...] friend (and the third leg of our tripod) Erica arrived last night to stay with me for a few days. Yay! She has an interview in the city [...]
