If there’s anything that can put me in the absolute best mood ever, it’s kittens.

hagilaygfliayrgliquygiyf!!!!!!!
I love dogs, I really do. But I’ve got to say that deep down inside, I’m a cat person. Like, I never understood why “old cat lady” was a used as a derogatory term. It sounds to me like the utmost term of endearment.
Anyway, a few days ago my sister Katie began fostering these three little love muffins:
Maya, Silas, and Lucy.

Someone left them on a front porch to…well, you know
Katie will be raising the three until Thanksgiving time, when they’ll (Lord willing) find a new home.
The best part is that since Katie already has two other cats, we’re keeping these little rascals at the family office (which is on the same property as her apartment). So I get to see them every day!!!

How can you not love a little cupcake pookie meowmix purrrfect face like that?! Okay…I’m done
yep, more pumpkin.
In other news, I’m starting to think that the pumpkin industry should totally hire me as their spokesperson. Don’t you agree?
I mentioned the other day how I’m always left scrambling for ways to use up left over pumpkin. So why did it take me so long to realize that my favorite baked goods recipes can easily be downsized?

I had just about 1/2 a can of pumpkin left this time, so I combined it with 1/2 the contents of a boxed spice cake mix (a la Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes). Then I placed 6 blobs of batter on a lined baking sheet, flattened them out a bit, and added a sprinkle of sugar on top. Bake for 18 minutes at 350 degrees. The result? Pumpkin Mini Cakes. Or muffin tops. But mini cakes just sounds cuter.
