scenes from the weekend.

Back to Montauk we go!

My record-breakingly small weekend bag. Who am I?

There’s this trend of the weekend weather starting out horribly.

But nothing a few hours of watching Portlandia on an iPad can’t fix.

The rain didn’t keep us from a fun Friday night out.

Saturday we brunched at Surf Lodge…

…followed by another fun and silly day from start to finish.

The plaid memo was clearly received on Saturday night.

As was the dance party memo.

On Sunday morning we had a great church service, followed by a not so great trip back to the city. And by not so great I mean our train broke down, we got transferred to school buses for an hour, back to the train for another hour, and home 3.5 hours later than we were supposed to be. It was an adventure, to say the least!

I’m now working here from my cozy little room, getting ready and excited for a great week ahead. As usual, will leave you with some inspiration on this Monday :)

What was the highlight of your weekend?

just can’t get enough.

…of going as blonde as possible. SpaFinder.com was kind enough to give me a $75 gift certificate to try their services, and I was able to book a last minute (discounted) appointment at Rizza Salon. My stylist Jimmy was amazing - I’m so happy with my fresh blonde locks!

I also just can’t get enough of… the Smokey Avocado Wrap from Blossom Du Jour. So vegan, so delicious. I may or may not order it 2-3 times a week.

I just can’t get enough of…Tyler Knott Gregson. Um, heart explosion?

…and of tumblr in general. GML has some competition :/

Lastly, Supernatural Ways of Royalty. It’s one of those books I just can’t put down.

What are you loving/can’t get enough of right now?
Reading anything good?

lessons lately.

1. My summer has officially started, and I wasn’t at all ready for it.

2. On that note, I’ve accepted that I’ll be living out of this suitcase for most of the next 3 months.

3. I’m currently loving (and suggest subscribing to) the Brave Girls Club daily emails. Thanks to Andi for introducing me to them!

4. When the thought of chopping off my hair comes around, just remember “this too shall pass.”

5. Gluten-free can be really (and I mean really) delicious. Thanks, Nizza.

Funghi Socca (truffled mushroom puree, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions & goat cheese) Ziti Pomodoro (prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, peas, onions, garlic & parmesan)

6. I literally do not know what I’d do without my friends and family. Sorry world, but I think I’ve got the best of them.

7. When it seems like God isn’t speaking to us, it’s because He’s forming and fashioning us.
(This is an amazing podcast by Kris Vallotton – “When God is Silent”)

8. It’s okay to give yourself a day of (at least some) pampering every once in a while.

9. While I love love love New York, there may come a day where I need more nature in my life than gardens.

10. This.
