Remember this photo?
And you may have seen tweets like this from me.
Well, I can finally reveal that they’re part of a bigger picture. A picture that I’m beyond ecstatic to share with you.
A few weeks ago, I was approached by my best friend Jessi with the offer to help with an organization she’d been dreaming of putting together for over a year. She reached out to a handful of our other girl friends, and without even knowing the details of the project, we all met for our first Freely Be team meeting on June 13.
Freely Be is an organization whose cause is to promote, grow, and work with non-profit organizations that we believe are bringing freedom to the world.
…freedom from hunger, from human trafficking, from addiction, from depression, etc……
We want to be the change we hope to see in the world, and we believe that that necessary change is freedom. Please learn more about Freely Be by checking out our newly launched website – FreelyBe.org.
So, what’s my role in all of this? Well, I’m the Marketing Director and CFO. I’ve obviously never accepted a position with this much responsibility, but I’ve also never been more sure about my role in…anything.
Needless to say, I have a lot on my plate. With Freely Be, a full-time job, running the social media for Liberty Church, and staying on top of GML…well…yeah. But do you want to know something? Somehow, I’ve been making it work. And when I say somehow, I mean with God and only God’s help. He has given me the strength, energy, and peace to continue moving forward with all of these things, and I absolutely cannot wait to see where it all leads.
I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop with Freely Be - we would LOVE for each and every one of you to be a part of our movement! You can learn more by:
- reading about our cause / plan of action
- follow us on Twitter
- become a fan of the Freely Be Facebook page
- check out the Freely Be blog (still slightly under construction)
- If you’re in NYC, come to our Launch Party on July 9
- bloggers – please email me at gracie[at]girlmeetslife.com if you’re interested in helping promote Freely Be!
Lastly, you’re all welcome to enter our FLIPPIN’ FOR FREEDOM sweepstakes to win a free flip camera! Contest ends on July 10.
Hope I didn’t overwhelm you with all of that
And please know that GML will continue with regular programming shortly, mkay?
I’m off to enjoy this one last day of vacation. Happy Independence day, babes. xoxo G
What does freedom mean to you? What do you want freedom from?

Thanks Amy, I needed that encouragement!
Wow this is so exciting - I’m so happy for you! I can see all sorts of great things coming from this.
As for freedom, I’d like to see freedom for women around the world to pursue education/careers/microfinance loans, or more simply, the freedom to shape their own lives. I would like to see this freedom for everyone (not just women), but when women are empowered this way, they tend to better the lives of not just themselves, but of their entire families and communities.
FOR SURE!! We actually have something coming up called “Undignified Beauty,” which encourages women to find their identities, passions, and callings in life. We’ll be doing stuff with it via the web but also a “real life” mentorship program. Look out for that!
Gracie, what a gorgeous endeavour, kudos to you and the other girls
Now…where did you get your dress, I.want.it. enough said!
