Back when I first posted about Freely Be, I gave a pretty general overview of what it is we do. While our main mission is to partner non-profit organizations with the business world, we at Freely Be have “smaller” causes and campaigns that we’d love for you to take part in!
The other day I introduced our first Key Holder, and now I’d like to tell you about something else we’re really excited for - Freely Cards.
The concept is simple - one you may have even heard of before - sharing acts of kindness with others and encouraging them to do so as well.
It’s paying for someone’s coffee without them knowing.
Letting someone else take the cab you hailed.
Putting your neighbors garbage out.
Or even something as simple as holding the door.
We know that the world is full of passionate people (…even in New York City where merely smiling at others is a rarity). Call us naive or call us cliche, but we don’t think it’s ever too late to break the jaded-ness that society has seemed to fallen into…ourselves included.
Almost everyone wants to perform random acts of kindness but just need that little bit of extra encouragement. That’s where Freely Cards come in. Perform an act of kindness and pass the card along. Those who freely receive will be inspired to freely give.
So pass along the cards, pass along the love.
See kindness in action. See LOVE in action.
Request cards by emailing us at info@FreelyBe.org.
Do you remember the last random act of kindness someone made towards you? Vice versa?

My husband made me a welcome home sign after I came back from a trip-out of the paper he promised to shred while I was away (and did!). So sweet. I absolutely LOVE this idea!
The last random act of kindness I received was a random guy paying for my way out of a parking garage. It totally made my day since normally I’m the one doing nice things for others.
Oh I want! You girls are so inspiring. Love it.
At the beginning of a wonderful weekend at the shore, I paid for the toll of a stranger behind me. Hopefully, it made their “welcome to the beach” all that much nicer!
<3333 love.
I love random acts of kindness! One time i was behind someone at starbucks who paid the next $50 worth of coffee’s for people! Pretty sweet
This is such an awesome idea. I always hold the door for people behind me and it’s such a small treat when people do the same for me.
This is wonderful!! I love the idea of doing random acts of kindness for people. I know how much it makes my day and it feels so good to do nice things for others! This is such an exciting thing that you guys are doing!
This is such a great idea! Love it! I always love doing kind things for others : )
Oh my gosh that is such a great idea! I think that will definitely help more people be inspired to do nice things for others!
I used to always pay the tolls of the person behind me every time I drove into SF. They used to be $3 and now they’re $6 so I haven’t done it in a while… $12 seems like a lot to drop at a toll booth! It is, but this reminded me how the feeling you get is often worth it. Maybe I should request some cards and give it another shot.
Courtney, that is SUCH a great one!!
this is a lovely idea
honestly I’ve found so much beauty and kindness in people even in New York City. It sounds cliche but it really makes my heart happy knowing that people are truly good at heart.
yes, same! it’s almost like it’s more special coming from people in New York
That’s such a great idea! I always want to pay for someone’s coffee, or just do something to make someone’s day. If I found one of those cards, that’d definitely give me the push to “just do it.”
I think the smallest things can be appreciated. Picking up something that someone dropped for them. Waiting a few extra seconds with a door open for someone who is still a few feet away. Asking a cashier how their day is going. People appreciate the little things.
Love this idea!
I didn’t realize this was a sorta “Pay It Forward!” I love. I absolutely love.
I love the idea of random acts of kindness, but the cards are just a really cute touch to the entire thing!
love it! i’ll be emailing you!
Those cards are so cute- what a great idea!!
