oh, hi!

I'm the girl, Gracie. Here at GML you can follow my journey of dreaming, working, eating, loving, dancing, and blogging my way through life in NYC.

a good day.

Today was a good day. Great, in fact.

I haven’t done a full day’s recap in a while, so here ‘goes!

I “slept in” this morning by waking up around 7:15. After spending about an hour doing blog-related stuff, I headed to work in a lazy comfy outfit (perk #56 of working for the family business).

Work took up [...]

November favorites.

Instead of categorizing this month’s favorites, here is a hodge-podge (in no particular order) of what I found to be especially exceptional during the month of November.

these little rascals.

first snow of the season.

On Thanksgiving! How sentimental.

all. things. cookies.

Cookies, cookie dough, cookie pie…clearly an essential food group.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator.

red lips.

Thanksgiving, of course.

…quickly followed by the start of [...]

like a movie.

People always seem to say, “life isn’t like the movies.” And you know what? I’ve always had a problem with that phrase, but never really thought about why.

Until now.

The Communication Studies major in me wants to defend that concept by saying how much movies set up unrealistic expectations for society, blah blah blah. I mean, obviously [...]

time to wind down.

As much as I love how the holiday season is in full swing, I’m dedicating this entire day to vegging out.

Literally and figuratively.

After a weekend with some of this…

…and a whole lotta that…

…my body and soul need to wind down just a bit.

The plan?

It will be a good day.

How do you wind down?

would you like some cake with that frosting?

Yesterday morning I woke up thinking, “I should probably eat on the healthier side this morning.” You know, since I ate my body weight in food the day before and all.

But then 6pm rolled around.

I had just eaten a delicious dinner of Thanksgiving leftovers (which also acted as a great post-workout meal), and I couldn’t get [...]

the day after.

Ever since I can remember, the day after Thanksgiving has been one of my favorite days of the year. Why? Because my family and I skip the shopping and instead spend the day decorating the house for Christmas. I mean, you know I love shopping and a good bargain, but staying my my pajamas all day [...]

Thanksgiving 2010.

It was a good one.

deserving of thanks.

I guess it’s time for me to list all of the things I’m thankful for, right?

I often consider how grateful I am for the important things in life – a gracious God, a loving family, wonderful friends, good health, and a roof over my head. So for now, I’m going to take a moment to give [...]

horizons.

I love living in the suburbs. I really do. But reason #98 why cities do it better? The food, of course!

Sure - the suburbs might have restaurants like Seasons 52, Cheesecake Factory, and Chili’s – but a girl can only take so many chicken quesadillas. That’s one of the reasons why I was so excited to [...]

only girl in the world, part 2.

Sometimes I feel like the only girl in the world…

…who drinks whole milk…and doesn’t think that it’s “too thick.”

…who drives an SUV.

…who absolutely loves rest stops.

…who has only been on one real date in my entire life. And it was lame.

…whose oatmeal usually looks less like a work of art and more like…well…

heh

Your turn [...]
