It’s one of those days…one of those days where I have so much on my plate but no idea where to even start! In these instances, there are two things that must be done.
1. Take one thing at a time.
2. Take your time, and enjoy it!
My pop pop is to thank for that second point. He was chock-full of simple but wise mantras, and that was one of my favorites. As a self-admitted multi-tasker, I often have to ask myself - What’s the point of rushing through life? Why not try to appreciate even the most mundane tasks?
So, while trying to sort through this insanity I like to call my to-do list…
…I’m going to at least try to find some sort of pleasure. Wish me luck on that one
breakfast.
Good thing every morning calls for breakfast – one of life’s no-fail sources of pleasure. This morning was one of the best I’ve had in a while.
I had two Van’s waffles – one topped with almond butter and coconut:
And the other with sweet potato, coconut, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
To die. I certainly had no trouble taking my time to enjoy this!
Back to work! Plans for the rest of the day include packing, gyming, and running errands…along with a bunch of little things that need to be done before leaving for Chicago tomorrow!
Enjoy your Wednesday, hotties! xoxo G
- Do you take one thing at a time, or are you a multi-tasker?
- What’s your favorite mantra?

Oh dear. That waffle looks unreal. I think I know what my breakfast is tomorrow!
Man, that is breakfast combo perfection, love it!
I’m a major multitasker. I think the only real time I take to enjoy this is the weekend or after work when I can just read for pleasure. During the workday, though, it’s go-go-go.
I love this post, I can totally relate to be a multi-tasker and not enjoying your time. Plus I had a pop pop too that gave great wisdom, like drink lots of apple juice when you have a cold!
My grandfather used to sing me a song about being patient. I’m typically a multi-tasker until I have too many things going on at once…then I have to slooow down and take it one thing at a time.
I’m TOTALLY a multitasker. One of my favorite quotes is “We all have time to do what we really want to do.” Which is one reason I rarely believe the excuse, “I don’t have time to work out!”
I am a multi-tasker, but have been told that it means I’m screwing multiple things up at once, lol.
Sweet Potato on a waffle? Leggo your poteggo!
I’m a multi-tasker, but I tend to do all the things I enjoy at once (blog reading, blogging, twittering, etc) and the things I need to do never quite fit it (laundry, clean the kitchen, etc
)
Wow amazing breakfast combo! I haven’t had waffles in forever! I am a multi-tasker..I definitely need to slow down sometimes!
Sometimes I get so caught up in multi-tasking that I start messing everything up. Taking your time will definitely pay off in the end. See you in Chicago tomorrow!!
I have always been a big multi-tasker but I have been trying to slow things down and just do one task at a time.
I have been all about waffles topped with nut butter recently. Heavenly.
I’m a queen of multi tasking and procrastinating as well. Not the best for stress levels and being productive, but I just can’t stop!
I multitask like no one’s business! Can’t help it — it’s the way I focus best.
Love the idea of sweet taters for breakfast…yummmm
I am a total multitasker-I always have 10 things going at once. My problem is sometimes I forget some stuff in the mix, which ends up creating more stress =) I have yet to master one thing at a time.
Totally looks yummy! I would have never thought to put a sweet potato on the top!
I am definitely a multitasker. I think most bloggers are (and have to be!)
I’m good at multitasking mindless things (talking/driving tv/homework), but the big stuff I have to put my whole mind to!! Love that quote from your grandpa though
CAN’T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!!
Aw, I love that saying! So wise!
My matra is the oldie, but goodie: Keep Calm and Carry On.
Totally a multi-task-aholic. I really should try to slow down every now and again, but I’m always feeling like I have so much to do! Have fun getting ready for HLS - hope to see you there!
your waffles look delicious!
I think all us Summiters are feeling a bit chaotic today =] Good luck!
I like to do one thing at a time. My mind gets too boggled by multi-tasking!
Sometimes I feel like I am the only healthy-living blogger that doesn’t like sweet potatoes. *SIGH*
