You know, sometimes I forget how boring my eats were before I started reading blogs. It’s dinners like this that make me so thankful for this newfound hobby of mine!
When I came across HEAB’s Gluten Free Hot Pockets a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to be on the lookout for corn flour. After picking some up this afternoon, I followed Non Dairy Queen’s recipe for papusas, which was probably one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. The dough requires corn flour and warm water…that’s it!
I filled my papusa with ham and Laughing Cow cheese. And it. was. divine.
I had a big salad of romaine and spinach with dressing to round out the meal.
bad habit number two.
Since I laid it all out earlier today, I might as well continue with these “unhealthy” confessions, huh? This is one that I think will be even more difficult to break…
True Life: I’m addicted to my BlackBerry.
Yes, it’s true. We’re kind of dating. But can you really blame me? My BlackBerry:
- manages my email (which is helpful when you have three accounts)
- is my calendar
- acts as my to-do list
Not to mention I’m always on:
- Twitter (alerts)
- Facebook (alerts)
- BBM
- Pandora
- texting
- checking the weather
- browsing the internet
- etc. etc. etc. !!!
But…I’ll be honest. It’s getting to be a bit too much. I don’t think five minutes goes by during the day where I haven’t checked my BlackBerry
I think the only way to break this habit is to straight-up not allow myself to check it as much. And I wouldn’t mind unplugging from it all together for a few hours of the day.
Shew….it feels to get that off my chest!
YOUR TURN.
- Are you addicted to your phone?
- What “blog-world” recipe have you tried lately or want to try?

I AM addicted to my blackberry. My husband hates it and often yells at me about it. Can we have a blackberry challenge or something?
I’m not addicted to my phone (bec its so old school its ridiculous). But I am addicted to my laptop. I made myself a schedule for when I’m allowed to be on it and whether for work or for play. Otherwise time just slips away and then I feel guilty for M playing near me and not WITH me for more than an hour.
I tried the sweet potato crisps tonight and they were delicious!!
I, too, have a Blackberry addiction. It’s intense and terrible!
Last night, I made Iowa Girl Eats’ Stuffed Bruschetta Turkey Burgers. Amazing!
I just got a Droid and I’m scared of how addicting it’s gonna get
haha uh ohh!
Definitely addicted to my berry<3 But sometimes I turn it off or if it dies, I don't freak out. And it feels GOOD!
Hmm, I’m with Meg. I finally got a Droid and before that I’ve always had “dinosaur” phones, so now that I have instant access to e-mail, internet and radio, I am finding I’m borderline addicted. That’s OK though, I’m not “too far in” that I can’t leave it in another room or anything:)
Yes, I am complelely addicted to my i-phone.
So much so that I am thinking of having a weekend day soon wher eI turn it off and put it in the drawer to get away from it!
I’ve been trying Greek Yogurts recipes recently and I’ve been really liking them!
I use my iPhone ALL THE TIME. God forbid I be bored for 10 seconds. After all, there are websites to see and tweets to check! I seriously need to unplug. I think it’s important to fully be in a moment, even if it’s just to sit and think and be aware of all your senses, and obviously, being attached to a cellular device does not help!
I am addicted to my iPhone… I admit it. But, I do know when it’s time to put it away - like when I’m with my family, friends or boyfriend. I feel like I’m being disrespectful when I’m texting or tweeting when I should be interacting with/listening to others… But sometimes it’s really tempting, and I HATE that! Nothing should be more important than people, I think.
I too have a Blackberry addiction. But I don’t think I’m quite ready to give it up!
Those “hot pockets” looked great on HEAB and now you reminded me that I want to make them soon. Thanks for that!
To my phone: no. It’s because I’ve spent the past two years in and out of the country so I have a crappy phone and no one to text in the U.S. Haha.
To my laptop/Internet: yes. And I am realizing how much this addiction depresses me in a way. I don’t know why but 2 hours reading a book does not make me feel lethargic like being on my laptop does.
I am a ridiculously fast eater as well - I blame my dad too, since I sat across from him growing up and he eats fast (while my sister, like my mom, is a slower eater!) I am an iPhone addict - it’s getting bad and annoying non iPhone users. I am going to try to be more conscious about my continuous phone checking behaviours!
I have a sick love affair with my iPhone. I think my fiance gets jealous sometimes! When we were on vacation, I surrendered and left the iPhone at home almost all day everyday. It felt great but took some getting used to!
i’m so addicted to my blackberry, especially bbm and uploading fb pics. it’s bad!! but i love my bb soooooooo much. i think you have the same one as me — the bold?
Which Blackberry do you have? I have the new curve. Pleaseee tell me how to do Pandora on my phone. Do you plug in your headphones!? When do you listen to it? Gym?
If my blackberry isn’t nearby I panic.
I just came across a healthy cookie recipe with spelt and carrots that sounds delicious!
I’m not addicted to my phone, but I AM addicted to my computer. I’ve been trying to cut back lately though!
That looks really good! And it requires few ingredients-nice.
I’m addicted to my iPhone. I never used my phone much until I got the iPhone and now I can’t part with it.
Oh. The. Phone. Before my iPhone I had 3 friends that all had one at girls night and it ANNOYED the crap out of me that they were always on them- oh yea - I get mine and Hubs got his now we are on them constantly ;0)
I have to stop this madness
Oh the phone, a very, very touchy subject. I am notorious for being glued to it. Plus I have two, one for work and one for personal. I need a tool belt.
You have to make a point to say each night no more phone after X time. I swear you’ll feel better and won’t miss it!
No, I am not addicted to my phone. I actually hate cell phones period. I’ve never really been one to talk on the phone and texting is annoying. My husband, however, is on the phone all the time in some form and it drives me crazy! I can’t wait to try The Edible Perspective’s banana scramble.
OMG I just upgraded from a crappy refurbished pearl to a bold. I’ve been addicted to my BB since the Pearl but now that I have twitter and way better capabilities with my bold, it’s never not by my side. I too have 3 email accounts and would be lost if BB didn’t manage my emails and send me calander reminders. Nothing wrong with a little crackberry
Your two bad habits are my boyfriends bad habits! LOL He eats super duper fast and he is constantly checking his phone. It’s like crack to him! LOL
I have the same phone as you and also us it as my calender, to do list and email. I check it, but not like my boyfriend. I guess it’s because I’m one of the weird ones that don’t have Twitter or Facebook.
Gad you liked the papusas! Your’s looks delicious!
Haha. I like your “unhealthy” habits. If I were to make that sandwich too, it’d be on my list as well. Actually, I’m going to have to make it so it will be on my list- it looks damn good.
I am SO addicted to my Blackberry… I call it my Crackberry
it just does so much! If people ever yell at me and tell me it’s a problem, I just tell them I’m getting my money’s worth for having to pay $25 extra/month for internet & email!
[...] my OTHER unhealthy habit. Categories [...]
I have the Bold! Pandora is a free app…just search for it on BlackBerry App World. And yep - I use my ipod headphones. I usually just use my ipod at the gym (don’t want to risk dropping my phone), but the Pandora is great when I’m just sitting around, traveling, etc.!
