Focusing on rest for the past couple of days has definitely paid off. I’ve gotten almost 12 hours of sleep each night for the past three nights! Any “sleep debt” (as my mom calls it) that I had is officially long gone. I’m still going to take it easy for the next couple of days, though. The doctor prescribed me yet another round of antibiotics on Wednesday, but I’m going to wait just a few more days to see if I can snap out of it on my own. So that means I’m going to continue to ix-nay the exercise :/ I know that some people find exercise helps them heal faster, but I find it has the opposite effect. Any stress on my body is a bad thing when I’m trying to get over an illness. It’s a tough pill to swallow because I love daily exercise and how it makes me feel, but my health is my number one priority right now.

I woke up this morning craving coffee (which can’t be a good thing). I had a big mug with half & half and stevia:

I sipped on it while catching up on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Does anyone else watch this? How crazy and hilarious is Lynne?!

For breakfast I made yet another egg scramble. Clearly I’m on an egg-kick these days. This morning’s combo was definitely hit or miss:

It had one egg, one egg white, spaghetti squash, spinach, shrimp, and Laughing Cow cheese.

It was a definite HIT! The spaghetti squash and shrimp (which were the ingredients I was more wary of) added a delicious sweetness to the scramble.

Plans for the rest of the day: work on blog (possibly new layout?), go to Barnes and Noble, paint nails, organize room, then out with the hussies =)

Have a lovely Saturday, babes!

Have you read any good books lately? I need suggestions! =)

  • Oh wow that scramble looks incredible girl!! I must try that.. ! And sometimes a giant mug of coffee with half-n-half is just the perfect thing :)

And I think it is amazing that you recognize that you do better with rest days and listen to your body. I’m having a reallllly hard time with that, but it gets easier. And i know that once I can exercise again, listening to my body will be my number one priority. It’s amazing the things we put our bodies through… like our bodies are invincible. Yeah.. they aren’t. And sometimes you have to learn that the hard way :/

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • I’m the same way where I have to rest in order to really heal. Good job on listening to your body!

  • Heather

I love me some eggs too!!

  • Oh, I’m with you girl…whenever i’m sick you can’t get me to the gym no matter how hard you try!! i know that i just need to rest my bod when that happens! Good for you for taking care of yourself :)

And agreed-lynne is crazy!!!! so hilarious though, her comments make me laugh SO hard! fave line of hers when her daughter was accusing her of smoking hash (weed) back in the day….lynne goes: “yea right, hash BROWNS….not hash brownies!!!!!” HAHAHA, did that make sense? have a great night love!

  • LOL yes!!! Or when the ladies are in the Everglades and Lynne asks if there are mushrooms out there?! That entire episode was hilarious because she was all sorts of messed up from painkillers (from getting her face-lift, of course). Clearly I can’t get enough of those crazy bitches =)
