So…does anyone want to donate to the send Gracie back to Chicago for another weekend fund?! Okay, didn’t think so. It was worth a shot, right? I’ve just had such a great time in this fabulous city.
Chicago food tour.
Rewind to yesterday afternoon: I went on a food tour of Chicago, which was hosted by Tastebud Tours. I must admit that I wasn’t hungry…at all…but when has that ever stopped me?

I was joined by a group of lovely ladies, as usual.

Andrea and I are lovebugs, fyi
Our first stop was Berghoff’s, where we were given bratwurst sandwiches.
I definitely wouldn’t consider myself a picky eater, but I’m just not a fan of bratwurst. I had one bite of this, and after a few chews it ended up in a napkin
Oops!
Our next stop was the Palmer Hotel, where supposedly the brownie was invented. I may not be chocolate’s biggest fan, but the brownie sample they gave us was pretty much to die.

Other eats from the tour included popcorn. More specifically - a weird but apparently popular mix of cheddar and caramel popcorn.
And a classic Chicago hot dog from Halsted Street Deli. Yes, I eat hot dogs. And yes, I love hot dogs.
I actually took most all of the vegetables off of this dog…’cause I’m healthy like that
Gabriela and I ended up leaving the tour a bit early to head back to the hotel and get ready for the night ahead.
Karyn’s On Green.
Later Saturday night the girls and I headed to Karyn’s On Green for a late dinner/get-together, which Angela from Oh She Glows organized. Karyn’s is a hip vegan restaurant in the downtown area of the city.

I was not at all hungry from the food tour, but I still wanted to try some of what Karyn’s had to offer. Ali and I decided to split a couple of dishes. We went with the Lentil Salad:
And the Eggplant Cannelloni appetizer:
Both dishes were delicious! As was the company

After dinner I met up with almost a dozen of my other favorite ladies for some final blogger shenanigans. We had a blast! It was definitely a great way to spend my last night in Chicago.
After a semi smooth-sailing travel day, I’m officially home! A recap of today’s events will come tomorrow
But for now I’m going to eat some dinner, spend time with the momma, and call it night. LOVE! xoxo G
- Are you a picky eater? What food grosses you out?
- If you could do a food tour of any city, which would you choose?

I’m not a real picky eater (other than the obvious limitations of being vegetarian), but I am a bit of a food snob. Woe is me.
Food tour in San Fran. No hesitation.
Id loveee to do a tour in Georgia! Cheesy southern food is my fave mmm. Great recap!
Looks like you had a blast on your trip! glad you are home safe
The HLS (and Chicago) looked so fun! Seeing as I’m vegan I guess you could say I’m a picky eater lol…but when it comes to veggies and such, I pretty much like anything!
…except celery. ew.
So glad you had fun!
Awesome you got to meet Andrea..she makes beautiful food and she’s a beautiful girl
I’d take a food tour of Venice any day and every day. LOVE Italy and loved the food in Venice!
I can not stand hot dogs. Who even knows what is in those.
For me, red meat sometimes grosses me out. There are just a couple of recipes that I absolutely can not resist.
Before i begun my healthy lifestyle, I was sooooooo picky.
Now…
I’ll try anything once
I miss you already
This weekend was so much freaking fun…I can’t wait till we do our NYC repeat, I’ll give you a cupcake tour haha. Hope you have a wonderful day my love!!
I’m not really a picky eater, but I’m not a fan of bratwurst or sausages either. Something about them grosses me out! Which makes no sense, since I’ve eaten so many other “gross” things like frog legs and lamb testicles haha!
I would love to do a food (and wine
) tour in California!
How fun! I would love to do a tour of Puerto Rico – yeah, the whole island.
My boyfriend is from there and we try some of the traditional stuff locally or homemade but he says nothing is like the authentic!
Aw, I wish I could’ve come along for the food tour!
Looks like a lot of fun. I’m not a very picky…
[...] redefining the hot dog. When it comes to hot dogs, I’m pretty picky. I generally stick to all-beef dogs from the ballpark or straight off the grill (or, when trying a “famous” hotdog). [...]
